Meet Tomas / Contact Me
Hello and welcome to my page!
My name is Tomas Echiburu and this is a website I
created to showcase some of my skills, interests, and personal projects. Feel
free to look at any of the posts on here. If for some reason you are interested
in what I have to say about myself, I'll allow you to keep reading.
While studying Physics and Mathematics at the University of Washington, I honed my problem solving
skills and exercised my tenacity and work ethic. Sleepless nights at the
library, struggling to understand the foreign concepts of electronics and
quantum mechanics, provided me great satisfaction knowing that I could overcome
what seemed impossible with simply some drive, books, and the internet.
People always raise an eyebrow when I say I majored in "Physics", a word that to many is
associated with impossibly complex problems that only history's most esteemed
brains have tackled. Einstein, Hawking, Newton, Galileo come to mind.
But what attracted me to physics wasn't the yearning to understand our universe's
fundamental properties; to study subatomic particles or black holes. Rather, I
became obsessed with the physicists' problem-solving approach. Breaking down
complex issues step by step to find the overall solution. Creating climate
models to predict future sea-water temperatures.
Using a mathematic approach to provide resolutions to foreign affairs.
Building electric circuits to charge lithium batteries. Physics gave me the confidence that I could tackle any
situation, utilizing my resources and applying a sound thought process.
